Evaluation for finished Tom and Jerry Cartoon

I believe that my SFX compliments the Tom and Jerry clip well. For example i used 1940's music that i found on YouTube as the backing track. I used this track because it went well with the images and the time period. I used certain sounds in the clip to bring my own humour to it e.g. a cat meow that i found on the internet. I placed this sound where the lion is roaring at the beginning of the clip because i thought that it looked funny and went well with that part of the clip. I also created my own 1940's cartoon sound effects e.g. popping and wizz sounds. I created these by using my mouth and a plastic bottle and recording them on a dictaphone. I also got a whistle sound effect from the internet to match with fast movements in the animation. For the part when the women goes into the kitchen i created a door slam SFX using the dictaphone. I believe this matches with the images well.

When it came to the phone sounds in the clip e.g. button tones and a phone ring, i think i did a good job  at getting the sound to perfectly match the moving images. I created the button sound by pressing buttons on my mobile and recording them on the dictaphone. For the phone ring i looked through my different alarm tones on my ipod and found it amongst, i also used a dictaphone for this sound effect. Another sound effect that i added was an eating sound, i used my lips for this sound and i think it goes very well with the moving images. I acted like i was chewing something in my mouth and recorded it on the dictaphone. For the bit at the beginning with the women singing i recored my friend singing and then slowed it down in editing to make her sound like she has a deep voice. I believe that this brings humour to the cartoon. I recored her voice also with a dictaphone. When the cartoon became faster in shots i placed faster music to set the mood, i found this music on YouTube.

I am happy with my overall result, i believe that the clip is both humorous and likable. It's just like normal Tom and Jerry but with my own unique twist. For example i made my own sounds using my own ideas. I believe that by making the sound effects myself I have both understanding and experience for future projects. If i were to do it again i believe that i would add more sound effects to ensure that i had the best sound possible. The only reason why i didn't do that this time is from lack of time and props.
